Pälzer Mädel (pronounced Pel-tsuh May-duhl) offers homemade jams, jellies, chutneys, freshly prepared in season using produce sourced from local farms, and pastries made from scratch.
Pälzer Mädel was founded in 2019 by Nicole Maynard. Nicole, who was born in Rheinland-Pfalz Germany, moved to Virginia in 2006. She loves to share her passion for creating homemade foods with her community in Virginia.
Beginning in 2019, Pälzer Mädel has been a featured vendor at Snead’s Farm Fall Festival, where we offer Belgian Waffles made to order and topped with freshly prepared Halloween jam, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. We also offer traditional German apple cake, pumpkin bread, and starting in the 2021 pumpkin & cream cheese muffins.
Beginning in 2019, Pälzer Mädel partnered with Snead’s Asparagus Farm to offer a variety of Jams & Jellies to members of Snead’s Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). In 2020, our products were showcased in Snead’s Farm Artisan Boxes.
On Saturdays in May – September 2021, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pälzer Mädel offered homemade cookies, jams, jellies, and chutneys for sale beside Snead’s Asparagus Farm Roadside Stand.
